    Giveaway: What's in their pockets?

    1. A monogrammed handkerchief. 2. A letter of introduction from an important personage. 3. A key ring full of keys -- all broken (missing teeth, badly warped, etc.). If you discover a lock that a broken key is meant to open, studying the key makes it easier to pick that lock.
