Using Fantasy Grounds (included in the poll), but wanted to mention that we are looking at doing hybrid virtual/in person sometime in the future, and I'm looking at Owlbear Rodeo as a way to keep the game basically "paper" but be able to share maps during online sessions.
I imported one of my campaign logs into the new UI and did some after game planning.
In general I think it is fine.
I am disappointed in how the "move logs around" handles things. It seems to "swap" logs, which is fine and all, but does not allow you to easily move a log to the top of the...
I didn't see it in your picture, but in looking around, I do see that the "table lamp" icon is a link to the cheat sheet. Was this always there, and I'm an idiot, or did you add this recently, and I'm still an idiot? :)
They used a Quick Character Creation method detailed in the book where you define minimal things to start, and flesh the rest out as you play. In games I ran, we did full character creation, but I did leave the players the option of leaving lower skill levels (+1, +2) undefined if they wanted...
Put a link to the formatting cheat sheet someplace easier to find (Right now you need to go to the FAQ, then the Wiki, then find the formatting section...)
https://cheatography.com/johnnfour/cheat-sheets/campaign-logger/
Preferably directly in the "Links" drop down, but at worst in the FAQ.
Yes, that is a good representation of FATE Core.
One thing to consider is that a lot of what they were doing with their characters would be a session 0 creation. In most games, part of character creation, is to develop backstories with each other character, and you define some of your aspects...
That completely worked... YaY! Thank you!
Question is: why?
Was it re-initializing it in the main generator and clearing the value created by the called generator?
This seems to contradict what is going on in NPC.json...

Well... from a mechanics perspective, it is pretty easy to get a handle on. Instead of HP, you have a "Stress Track" and you can have different ones for different things if your world calls for it... Doing a game focused primarily on high finance CEO's flinging money around? Have a "Money"...
I'm working on an NPC generator for a custom race & profession set for my CRMH campaign. In any case, I'm using a stripped down set of data while I troubleshoot this. Specifically I'm trying to generate a race, return a full race name, and set a variable for an abbreviation that will be used...
In looking for answers to this, I searched the site, and found the following post:
Helpful to have those links, but they were not really helpful in writing generators (many gaps, etc).
I'm trying to understand how to pass a variable back up to a calling generator. I've read through the...
Yes, it is a very narrative interactive game. There is combat, but it is not really combat focused, and you get combat benefit from describing how you used the "elements" defined by the players and the GM at the start of combat in creative ways... I remember our first game where I was playing a...
One possible technique is to be an unreliable narrator as GM. I would only suggest this with a group/player that trusts you to deal with them fairly, as I can result in players feeling you betrayed them. This relies on setting up backstory and campaign in a way that the players (and their...
Greetings! Ryuutama is a fun game. My wife bought me a copy for Christmas one year, and GMed a game for me and our son. Very fun, you should try it. It has a great focus on the journey and not on the encounter.
