Feature Requests

For feature requests, the process is:

Some of the requests that have come in:

Make url links a different color than tags. It's too hard to determine what is a URL and what is a tag and they SHOULD be different as they behave differently.

A calendar-style view of log entries, making use of the calendar tag to place log entries into the correct dates.

Currently, 'Copy Entry' copies over the timestamp of the original entry. This is, to my mind, undesirable, as it means that entries based on a template sort incorrectly. It would make more sense for the timestamp of the new entry to be the current date/time.

To have log entries span multiple campaign logs for shared universe entries (places / spells / glossary / etc.)

Allow the sorting from "Go to tag listing", allow a secondary filter...like finding X in Y's tag listing. So far, I've been using the search bar, but refining the list would be better.

Aliases for tags. The ability to link multiple tags to that they reference the same body of entries. This would be useful for synonyms, pseudonyms, secret organizations, identity reveals, language translations, first vs. full names, etc.

Small caps format for text.

Code for horizontal rules

Ordered and unordered lists

Make login more standard so that my browser can login automatically. It is hard to have to type my whole email every time.

Make the Calendar tag (%) accept times as well so that the sorted list can be controlled in a more logical order. If I go back and add an entry with additional info about an event, I cannot group the new entry with the old entry. If I could add a time of day, then I could use time to sort the entries.

Regarding the Hover - World Anvil is a decent example - it doesn't instantly pop up it has a slight delay. It also disappears when the hover stops - the configuration of this can be optional per user - for example I think the shaking of the popup is a little annoying on world anvil but others might like it. I would also have the delay slightly larger (especially if the popup stays open as it currently does). I am thinking like half a second is a good place to start for a delay.
 
That sounds good Jochen, but for example when DMing I may look at all of my Locations so I just want to make sure however it is setup it's somewhat visible and organizable. I also saw the way all the items tend to just pool together now and I figure if we could break things into smaller lists by giving something a sub category it helps clean up the visibility and organize things better.... plus if I want to look at 'Cities' I would be able to do that - with Tags that will help too but if it's to open-ended it may be difficult to organize/categorize. I'm looking forward to see how the metatags comes up tthough.
 
Due to larger group size on VTT, my group is thinking of instituting timed turns to keep play scrolling fast.

So it would be awesome to have some kind of shared timer tool. The Gm sets it, all players can see the count down or count up.

It would be especially cool to have multiple chess timers so you can time turns ala Faster Combat.

Are there plans to return to the previous method, or provide a means for users to choose how they are displayed?
 
I had asked @JochenL to increase the size to 10 lines, lol. I was finding small boxes generated too much scrolling around for longer entries.

@JochenL Maybe we make this a user preference? Or, could we have a toggle button in the Log Entry editor for Small (5 line), Medium (10 lines) and Large (25 lines)? A click resizes the box.

I still find 10 lines too small, especially for Campaign Entries.

@MarkD you probably already know this, but you can drag to resize boxes using the grabber in the bottom right corner.


I believe this is a bug and @JochenL has it in the backlog to fix.

I too would rather this was perhaps a setting as I also like to see a list of options, when items are all similar, so I also liked more over less...
 
when creating or editing a log, having the ability to upload a picture would be a huge plus. I have a custom picture that I want to use for my campaign, being able to upload it to the log without first having it hosted online would be a huge plus. See picture for reference

Agreed. We'll be looking at potential image hosting solutions in the future. That will probably be another user voting topic.
 
not sure what you would call this... "Cascading Relations" ?
If i click a tag, then entries with that tag pops up on the thread.

what if: all the other tags listed in those entries are also opened and so on.
As a button/filter thing to activate, so you have the choice not to see it like this.

Those times when you want to get the full picture.
 
I imagined spiderweb-like navigation for this some time ago... How could this best be displayed?

but maybe the whole idea is nonsense, maybe it is already inherent in the whole tag system.
you would use a specific tag in all entries related to that mission or site etc.

but expanding on it.. maybe i would want to see all sites related to a character or organisation instead of all entries, just tag clouds from each category where my selected tag appears?

For me the biggest limitation is the inability to put an image in the note easily. Yes you can do some bizzare thing were you self host images that you somehow index in a meaningful way then manually link them and such. However, given how frequently I have to put an image (picture, stat block) in it this isn't feasible.
 
Thanks. There are small thing but that's the only missing critical piece. E.g., you've got an NPC and you need a picture, you've got a monster and you need a statblock.

What are we doing about marketing?

However, given how frequently I have to put an image (picture, stat block) in it this isn't feasible.

We're going to add the first parts of upload image capability during our next iterations (starting 10th of May). We broke down the feature into these chunks:
  • Upload Images via Button in Campaign and Log Entries
  • Upload Images for Logs and Campaigns
  • Use Drag & Drop for Entries
  • Use Drag & Drop for Logs and Campaigns
  • Upload PDF's
  • Gallery to drag from and to manage files
  • Copy & Paste from different sources

i just found myself wanting a "pin this" option to my "next session todo" entry :D so that its always at the top. dunno why when i can just search for the tag

There is a "Pin Log" option at the top of each Log. But you want to pin an entry and have it sticky inside its Log at the top, right?

How many sticky entries would you need? Where would you position it in relation to "Input Log" field, search bar, and Campaign Entry (if tag filtering is active)?

yeah the entry :D i already have log pinned to home. well atm i was just thinking about the one entry where i write down things i have todo for next session :)
