How to build an inventory of tagged images?

Pinterest is my go to for compiling lists of images:
  • Find cool image
  • Paste in a URL
  • Add to Board
  • Add a note
So why can't we use Campaign Logger for this? With tagging, it might be even better for this.

I think there are two reasons.

First is the syntax. Typing in the image code in CL takes longer than simply pasting a IRL into Pinterest.

Second is the UI. Pinterest makes visual inventories quick and easy to browse.

For Campaign Logger, I wonder what would be done about #1? I wish I knew javascript or Chrome extension coding. There could be a simple tool where you paste in a URL and it spits out the CL code for an embedded image.

Maybe such a tool already exists? A generic string creator. Anyone know of such a tool?

For #2, I wonder what's possible? Maybe a browser extension that could be coded to display Log Entries as cards?

Any ideas?

Another, possibly easier to implement solution would be approaching this from another direction: make it easy to include your existing Pinterest boards within CL. There's a simplish widget for this:
https://developers.pinterest.com/docs/widgets/board-widget/
[see ticket CL-955]

You may not want to depend on an external site as a permanent solution, but this could be a first step. Plus, no doubt many already have sizable board collections in Pinterest. This would allow leveraging them without the need to create the boards again.

And of course both of theses solutions could be available simultaneously.

That's cool @ELF, thanks!

I think it would also be amazing to use image collections in @JochenL's new generator code that allows images to display in results.
