RPT GM Martin V sent me this excellent email on his key takeways from this fantastic game, and how they might be used for other systems.
[Here are some] interesting insights from Blades in the Dark, a game I've been reading recently.
Blades in the Dark is a game about playing daring scoundrels...
Awesome! Importing worked great. The output is great!
I think there's a small bug. Every PC has a water skin in addition to the standard 3 pieces of equipment.
Or maybe that's in the rules?
Everyone gets a free water bottle. Make ya last a wee bit longer in me dungeon.
I love that you are working on this @JochenL! This will definitely help with my Open Table campaign for Platinum Patrons.
The output does not work for me. Neither the dcc.json file or pasting in from Purple Sorcerer.
The dcc.json looks cut-off at the beginning (top Log Entry). The bottom Log...
What do you think about allowing the preview window to be scrollable? With a button that syncs it back to your cursor point in a single click.
I'm finding a need for that as I write long Campaign Entries.
This is one of my favourite features of Campaign Logger.
A huge intent of the app is to keep your flow going as you prep.
No stops and starts trying to find stuff or link stuff together.
When I'm prepping and don't have a name or identity for something, I just put in a filler value.
I'm prepping a DCC campaign and Purple Sorcerer generates characters for the game.
Attached is the PDF version example of output.
Also attached is the JSON output.
Would be cool to make an importer for Dungeon Crawl Classics characters!
Thanks for the suggestion @Lensman! I really like the idea of different access tiers for Patrons.
@JochenL and I will be refactoring the Free Trial feature set at some point. And from there we can build tiers.
Heh. But I think the spirit of the discussion was a) better marketing, and b) a better experience for doing that (or, at least, clarity on how to do it).
I agree on both.
So thank you for the suggestion!
If you rely on images, then you'll want a good system for that, agreed.
I use Pinterest. That lets me link to the source if I need hi res for a handout of VTT background. Plus easy search and awesome thumbnail browsing interface. Free too.
