    Not Again, and Not Cool

Well, the rest is now moot; thanks, and take care.

    Before I, Hopefully Temporarily, Go...

Nope, not at all. I mean if the list of all distinct logs; for example, you suggested having one each for planning, and for play. ergo "log list".

    Not Again, and Not Cool

My thumbs don't even fully oppose man; could you rephrase that in Idiot?

    Before I, Hopefully Temporarily, Go...

Thanks; that's a good idea; it doesn't really apply to log lists, but it's good to bear in mind.

    Not Again, and Not Cool

Just some ideas, still presuming it was operator/user error: 1. A secondary indication that the log still has content; between sleep-dep induced dyslexia, and confusing one line with another, thinking that the log has "0" content because you're looking at the wrong line is a real possibility...

    Before I, Hopefully Temporarily, Go...

... does anyone have any "best practices" against losing data/entries/info, applicable to CL? I really like this product, but I just can't bring myself to using it if I think my material is going to join lost socks. It doesn't have to be CL specific; it just has to apply to prevention of...

    "In My Head"

Other issues aside, I'm one of those "Keep a campaign/story in my head" sorts that JF mentioned, but I'm here to make a case for why these sorts of tools are still useful for us. In two words: 1. Structure: back when my last laptop still worked, with my writing suites, I had writing software...

    Not Again, and Not Cool

While I'd like to be kept up to date, and to return to this product in the future, unless I have some clear, practical way of avoiding this in the future, I'd like a refund, and to cancel my sub please. Please keep me on the mailer, esp. regarding improvements/changes in this area. Again...

Running a modern game, the struggle for modern storytellers

re: prior - practicalities and realities. You're not God; anyone believing, even tacitly, that you are, or who expects you to be has an IRL, i.e. game/story distinct, problem; that includes you. I'll break it down; what's the next powerball number? GM's are outnumbered; they're doing players...

Running a modern game, the struggle for modern storytellers

"The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation." Thoreau, via "Walden" The following is an example of people wanting to have their cake, because it's neither believable, real, or rational: (this isn't a jab at you man, but at players who have insane notions about sane worlds) "In a modern...

Oh yeah; that goes a ways back.

    House Rules:

Forgive me if I'm incorrect, but this seems to address what makes games better, rather than easier; perhaps you could elaborate at some point.

    House Rules:

Haven't gotten a game off the ground for awhile now, but even back "in the day", I always automated (pnp-wise) as much as possible. At the very least, I always have "barely failed" based progression/advancement, no matter what game it is, unless it's something highly narrative like my current...

Salaam game masters! How do you say hello?

A real life and friends? You are powerful.

    Crunchy "Open" RPG System

Forthright Fitting all your given constraints, that's the best that I can think of. Either way, that version's free. Disregard; I misconstrued what you meant by "open", and you want even more complexity than FATE.

Running a modern game, the struggle for modern storytellers

Please pardon the "point at a time" approach, but I'm not much of a walk-and-chew-gum kinda guy. re: "... is this believable..." It may be real, but that doesn't mean it's believable. I'm trying to help and not snipe, but the distinction does matter. There are many things that really happen...

    "... double duty..."

    What are you playing (currently)?

Nothing, but I'm more of a writer so, "win-win".
