Tip: Pasting text from OneNote creates an image in CL instead of text

There seems to be a two-step process happening in my browser when I paste from Calc with just Ctrl-V. First I see a bunch of text, then it disappears and the image link appears. I'm happy Ctrl-Shift-V is working! Saves me a couple of steps. :)

Tip: Pasting text from OneNote creates an image in CL instead of text

I think the way CL handles pasting on Windows has been a bit dodgy until just recently. Ctrl-V, of course, pasted an image from LibreOffice Calc as others have noted, but Ctrl-Shift-V didn't do much better, pasting some kind of escaped mess of text. As I was preparing a detailed example to...

    Feature Requests

Suggested Feature: Nested page preview When hovering over a tag, a small preview window opens to show the page contents. I'd like to be able to hover over tags in the preview window and have them open yet another preview window.

Bug? Cloning a page with % tag

When I clone a calendar page (with % tag), when I try to use the pop-up success message: The system responds with: The cloned tag is actually created.

    Feature Requests

So, my suggested feature. Automatic tagging. I've been looking at Obsidian recently for general note-taking. It has a community added feature that pops up a small dropdown listbox as you type if what you're typing is found in the title of any pages already in the system. You can select one of...

    Feature Requests

I have a feature request but I'm frustrated trying to follow the process @JohnnFour outlined at the top of this thread. My frustration is coming from two things: There are now almost 200 replies in this thread, running 10+ pages. It's a little difficult to skim through them all to see if...

Tip: If Double Quotes Are Being Broken/Truncated

Piling on here... I've been bit by the general/campaign setting thing as well. Easy to understand once I remember it works that way. There must be some UX-fu about how these things are done. :)

How to track XP in CL?

I use a Google sheet to track XP so it can automatically do the arithmetic to keep the total XP up to date for the players. I have a changing list of players each week, so keeping up with the XP for each player is a hassle to do manually. Since CL doesn't do arithmetic, it's not worth the effort...

    Campaign Plotline - Mermaid Code

I love this idea because it gives me a mental model of how "the world" is changing as a result of the player's actions or lack thereof. In the sandbox campaign I'm running, each session is designed to be a standalone encounter beginning and ending at the main player "base" (in my case a large...

What is your preferred VTT and why?

I discovered Owlbear just after I had bought into Foundry and set up a cloud server for it. I never really looked at it seriously, but perhaps should do so now. Especially for the face-to-face tabletop use case. Foundry is a bit too much for that case.

    Your biggest encounter mistakes?

I could go on and on, I've made so many! Not having a clear objective / resolution strategy for the encounter. Missing some obvious player tactic that completely bypasses the meat of the encounter. Doing a little role play at the beginning of what is supposed to be a combat encounter and...

What is your preferred VTT and why?

I switched from Roll20 to Foundry a little while ago because of Roll20's poor support for Starfinder (and the cost). Foundry takes more work to use, but it has been OK so far. Most of my play these days is back to face-to-face sessions. I have experimented with using a 32" LCD TV laid down on...

Can't save any changes or Logout of CL

Is that a Level 20 spell?

Can't log in or in login loop.

Seems like there are several of us in this state. I think @JochenL has been summoned from his aerie in the Celestial Plane to defeat the demons inhabiting the machine. (My loose translation of what @JohnnFour said.)

Can't save any changes or Logout of CL

I'm stuck in a loop here. I don't seem to be able to save anything in CL. Also, I can't logout successfully. The Campaign Identity site seems to log me out, but CL never responds. I've tried "Clear Cache and Reload All" with mixed results (sometimes I clears and never reloads, sometimes it...

    Introductions

You two are among the small and rarefied segment of humanity that might recognize where I spent my early years. Born in Port Arthur, and lived in Geraldton. Parents were radio operators for the Lands and Forests coordinating the Otters and Beavers as they fought fires.

    Linking logs to other logs?

Nope. No preview because it's exactly like a link to an external web site. I'm sticking with Pages over Logs for this. In fact, I wonder if it might be better to do the opposite. I'll put the Session Planning information into the Session Summary Page and remove it from the Log completely. When...

    Linking logs to other logs?

It seems to me to be a waste to keep the "Session Info" in a Page. I wanted to be able to quickly find all the session summaries and didn't know how to link to them. I think they'd be better a log entries. The Plotline is a bit more fiddly to build, but not impossible. I'll have to check to see...

    Introductions

Welcome to another fellow Canuck. Yay! I'm a Texas transplant, part of the fifth column down here, but I have family near Guelph. I grew up in Milton when it was only 5.000 people.
