    Your biggest encounter mistakes?

This raises a really interesting question about metagaming and fog of war. Who knows what and especially in dark passages can you tell the difference between various man sized monsters that you only heard of in legend? Maybe an INT check to identify a monster and another to now/remember what it...

    Your biggest encounter mistakes?

I think for me it tends to be the long slog - the PCs are going to win. Eventually. And it either ends up keep rolling, keep rolling, or its a kind of "ok so you are going to win, lets fast forward" which both suck. Some of the ideas from faster combat will help here but I have not had a chance...

    2 player games

Thanks for the advice. Im not planning on releasing any content any time soon. Scenarios good enough for a couple of friends is challenge enough for me, it will be a long time before I have anything I want to show the world at large!

    2 parties one dungeon

Once, way back when, I was adventuring in a cave system and found another party that the same gm had in the same location. He reasoned that if two parties were there they should both be there but simply asleep between sessions. This struck me at the time as a terrible idea and still does to this...

    2 player games

You were right you asked the question as asked, I just formulated it badly :) Having thought about it for a few days, my suspicion is that its just a niche within a niche and most game designers are struggling enough as it is. In principle you dont need much in the way of special rules for a...
  6. Subdued Wasp

    2 player games

I get what you are saying, but that isnt really the question I was posing. I guess the question should be whether there is a market for 2 player (not necessarily couples) rpg. Off the top of my head most games seem to be aimed at 4-6 people or so, with almost all the rest solo. I would imagine...

    Introductions

Im from London and currently living in Berlin. I have GMed a fair bit in the distant past. In the past the games ended up being more or less 100% combat, lots of dice with adventure, narritive etc secondary. My intersts now are almost exactly the reverse, its not just about avoiding murder...
  8. Subdued Wasp

    2 player games

In the past I played quite a bit of Tunnels and Trolls (a simple but fun RPG for those who dont know it) as a single player plus GM. Of course the game loses most of the social aspects but I dont see why RPGs cannot be played by couples. Now that I think about it, there seems to be a market for...
