A new gamemastering newsletter started last month:
https://dungeonmasterdaily.com/

This is a daily(!), brief mailing that promises to deliver short gaming tips, but its rather ambitious raison d'être seems to be listing all new gamemastering related content published on the Web on the previous day.

For me the publication frequency sounds alarmingly high, but the concept of listing the new Web resources is something new and ambitious, to say the least.

Previous emails can be checked out in the archives:

Interesting. I would greatly enjoy such a service. I've signed up.

Hmmm ... that made me think. There is a service for the elixir (programming language) community called "elixirweekly"; the interesting bit about that is, that it's content is being aggregated over the week from another service called "elixirstatus". And that service is fully community driven.

Each and everyone can post something there after logging in with GitHub. All posts get tweeted by the @elixirstatus account which is widely followed. So if you've got a cool new elixir project or blog post you can just announce it there and get some attention from the elixir community.

Might that format be something for the roleplaying community as well?

That is an interesting idea! I take it that GitHub authentication is enough to prevent spam? If so, the service could be almost completely automatized.

A service like that could soon turn into a free advertising forum for small scale indie publishers, but would that be such a bad thing?

The mentioned elixirstatus service includes tagging, so the elixirweekly newsletter splits up into categories. :)

And yes, the GitHub auth seems to be enough to prevent spamming.

This app was mentioned on my Patreon by Bryan Gough:

Mongoose Traveller 2e has an incredible world building process. Some fan made a tool/app that kicks out content for a world based on its UWP (Universal World Profile). Without going in to great detail, the UWP provides coded indicators for Size, Hydrography, Atmosphere, Population, Government Type, Law Level, Technology Level, and Trade (Resources).

Wow! That program is an excellent example of translating numerical data into human-readable format.

And it's written in BASIC. :D
