Escaping a tag in new editor/parser

Is there a way to escape the tag symbol, so as not to turn something into a tag in the new editor? I tried placing it in quotes and escaping it with a backslash, but neither helped.

I just turned the new editor on to use for the logs for my new campaigns, and then I tried adding the "word" AD&D to the log. Which just resulted in the text ADD where the last D is a tag.

I tried looking a bit around, but couldn't find anything.

The editor also seem to eat extra linebreaks.

Ok, I found some ways to work around this.

If you are trying to type a bonus, like +3, once you enter the + sign the "tag edit box" will pop up. Simply hitting esc closes it, and the + is not treated as a tag.

When you write a tag in the middle of a word, like AD&D however, the tag edit box don't show, it just automatically makes it into a tag. But, if you type AD& D (Notice the space), and then erase the space using backspace no tag is being created.

You can also hit the toggle markdown button and escape it in there.
