Feature Requests

For feature requests, the process is:
  • Skim this stickied thread before posting a feature idea in case it's already been requested
  • Post new requests and ideas here in this stickied thread
  • We discuss
  • If the idea has legs, @Rardian? approves and adds to Jira backlog
  • Backlog prioritization and bi-weekly sprint planning process take effect


Some of the requests that have come in:

Make url links a different color than tags. It's too hard to determine what is a URL and what is a tag and they SHOULD be different as they behave differently.

A calendar-style view of log entries, making use of the calendar tag to place log entries into the correct dates.

Currently, 'Copy Entry' copies over the timestamp of the original entry. This is, to my mind, undesirable, as it means that entries based on a template sort incorrectly. It would make more sense for the timestamp of the new entry to be the current date/time.

To have log entries span multiple campaign logs for shared universe entries (places / spells / glossary / etc.)

Allow the sorting from "Go to tag listing", allow a secondary filter...like finding X in Y's tag listing. So far, I've been using the search bar, but refining the list would be better.

Aliases for tags. The ability to link multiple tags to that they reference the same body of entries. This would be useful for synonyms, pseudonyms, secret organizations, identity reveals, language translations, first vs. full names, etc.

Small caps format for text.

Code for horizontal rules

Ordered and unordered lists

Make login more standard so that my browser can login automatically. It is hard to have to type my whole email every time.

Make the Calendar tag (%) accept times as well so that the sorted list can be controlled in a more logical order. If I go back and add an entry with additional info about an event, I cannot group the new entry with the old entry. If I could add a time of day, then I could use time to sort the entries.

What do you think about making the "DCC Open Table - Logs" breadcrumb and turn it into a clickable dropdown to navigate.
Will be in the next update.
 
Love the new pages feature. Would it be feasible to have the labels for the page also in the tooltip that pops up when you mouse over the name in the log. For example I might have labels like : Dead or Solved or MemberOfCertainBrotherhood.

As a CL user, when I use the "Clone Page" tool, I expected the Labels for the page would be copied to the clone as well.
 
As a CL preview user, when I clone a page, out of habit I put quotes around any tag with spaces in the name as the new page name which CL preview creates as tag""name"", including the "'s - The clone page title box assumes quotes which I like, but if you type quotes anyway out of habit there should not be doubled quotes before and after the title in the resulting page.

i would like the above not cause additional costs. uploading commercial material to common ai repository could cause copyright issues as now the ai can use the same copyrighted material for any purpose…

in OpenAi - specifically forbids uploading copyrighted work https://openai.com/terms/ It also seems to have restriction on commercial usage of results - which is what cl most likely is as it is being charged for the usage. This all seems it is early in the game. what one probably could do is upload own invention material and insert that material eesults in one’s own cl
 
Well, if folks are really thinking of taking the suggestion seriously ... don't train someone else's service.
Train your own.
I know "let the cloud worry about it" is all the rage these days - but it really just involves too much bean-counting for me.
Deploying a handful of tensorflow nodes on top of your biggo GPU cards can get some decent starting results without Huge Cloud Expen$es
 
More to satisfy my curiosity than anything, the ability to see word count for the whole campaign would be neat.

Also, if it hasn't already been suggested the ability to share Log Entries with a specific player.
 
Some time ago I have successfully requested delete buttons for items in the search field drop-down menu. Could we have the same also in other drop-down menus, especially for pre/suffixes? Or is there any easy way of cleaning the list in the drop-down?

For prefix and suffix, the dropdown list is populated from the used prefixes/suffixes of the current log.

Sure it is, but how to depopulate the list? I use prefix in my game log for stating session# and date (in game time) and after 4 years of the campaign, it is pretty populated. The last used item is shown at the bottom of the list, which stretches quite a long way down the page, so i have to scroll the view far below the edited log entry to click/choose it (which is very inconvenient on small screen laptop with touch-pad, because if your mouse pointer accidentally leaves the dropdown, it closes and you can start over)...
 
Oh, I see. The last used at the top should be a solution. And limiting the list length to 10 entries should also help.

How would you expect the app to repopulate the list if I add a delete button?
Or would you prefer the same save and delete behavior as for search terms?

both last on top and 10 entries tops would sure work, save/delete not as much for me, but depends on how people use that field
