Hey everyone,

I'd like to try the new campaign logger, but without the ability to import my current campaign files, I honestly don't think I will, and I can't for the life of me figure out where I can import my old JSON file if it is possible. Any help would be sweet. Thanks everyone!

Ahoi!

That's quite easy:

- Create a Campaign
- Create a new Log or rename an existing Log
- in the sidebar dialog, drag your JSON file(s) to the indicated place or click the same place to open a file dialog

@JochenL maybe we add this part to the quick tour for new users?

Just recently I myself searched for the option to import a json into an existing log. It took me a while before I realized that I had to click "Rename" to open the dialog where the import function was available. How about we add another import button to the button bar of the Log Card?

A further question on this line -- how can I import json/ data from json so that I get Campaign Entries? I created a Campaign, imported the json, so I now have a Log where I can see the entries if I open said Log, but no Campaign Entries on that tab of the Campaign. Tags are imported, so I can create an entry with a tag based on tags from the imported json, but I'd have to do that for every entry. Can I not somehow import stuff from the json to fill entries in the Campaign Entries tab? Having all of them rolled up in a Log doesn't really do it.

No, that won't work out of the box. The system does not know how to convert a log entry into a campaign entry by itself. You can do it manually by copying a log entry and ticking the option to create a campaign entry, and providing a tag for it.
You would have to transform the JSON somehow to have it automated, but this is getting into programming territory.

Rats. Oh well, I needed to go off in a new direction anyway. Thanks for the info!
