Hello All;

My name is Troy (which I bet you could figure out from my screen name), I've been playing D&D off and on since about 1977 (let's hear it for the red boxed set!), and I was 10 when I started.

I live on the central coast of Washington State.

My favorite system is Shadowrun (there's nothing like throwing 10-20 d6 at a time), although I do not get a chance to play. Everyone in my area plays D&D. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing D&D.

My favorite dice is the d20 that my wife got me. If possible, I'll post pictures of the 1 and 20.

I prefer to be a player for D&D, but if I am going to play at all, I have to DM

I don't consider myself to be a very good DM, which is why I am here: to get better.

My addiction has now grown to include Fate, Dresden, D&D (5th Ed), Pathfinder (1st Ed), and a couple more shelves of materials and game systems.

How is the Dresden system? I love the novels, have the PDF's of the system, but haven't played it.

Happy Birthday, @Cryptocartographer !
I hope you have a wonderful day in Chicago. I have once lived in Chicago actually. A long time ago though.
Did you manage to make logging your Blades in the Dark info into Campaign Logger worth your while as you described here? Did it help you? Please share your experiences with it.

Hello!
My name is Jonathan. I lost my job in 2018 and started homeschooling my kids. One of the first things I did was buy Dragonwood Dice game from Gamewright. We got so into the game as roleplay I decided to see if there were any advanced roleplaying games out there and so, found Dungeons and Dragons 5th Ed. After a few years, I realize there are so many more out there, but have stuck with 5e and utilized other rules from other systems to piecemeal my games together.

I always DM and love that seat. I most play with neighborhood groups but have since expanded my neighborhood to fellows on discord and zoom calls.
I grew up in Texas, USA. We have since hit the road with full time traveling as nurses. I enjoy epic stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things, with a lacing of the heroes comprehending and ancient world and the villains attempting a takeover. That being said, survival, mixed with heavy political and romantic intrigue, gritty western and folk hero tales are enjoyable.

I have always been a sucker for a good human story and could sit and listen to people tell me their life journeys. I determimed early on that we are all sojourners. RPGs, I have found to be one of my favorite recreations and continue writing, developing my craft of managing a table, and learning from the stories we tell each other.
Thanks!

Hi, my name is Gary. Been playing D&D since 78. I'm GMing 3 (different) pathfinder campaigns for my wife, my daughter (27) and her friends. I'm located in Katy, Texas. My favorite die is a 6-sider. Nothing like rolling a handful of them to get the players attention...
I lived in Katy during 2020! Would have been good to catch up then! Peace!

I guess, Stephan deduced language from the location.
Correct. If not given otherwise I just assumed that you spoke the language spoken where you are living at. It is no collection of languages that all members speak but just an indication that most people use English as their native language here, but that there is a high percentage of people also with German native language. And some people can even speak languages as far away as cantonese, islandic or portuguese. Strangely enough, we seem to have no members from Russia and its vicinities yet.

Hello everyone! My name is Jim. I've been GM'ing for nearly 40 years now, from D&D Basic through 5E, as well as every iteration of Star Wars RPG, Palladium, RIFTS to the WoD system. If there is an RPG out there, I want to try it. Additionally, starting my foray into Warhammer 40K miniatures gaming. I am also a retired, disabled veteran. Very much looking forward to this venture as I want to write (possibly publish) epic RPG sagas. I would be a 4 sided die, as not only can I be used to generate results but additionally, I can be used as a caltrop against non-creative players. I kid. I kid. (No, not really, but I should present the nice Jim, to begin with until you all are used to my twisted sense of humor.)
Happy Birthday, Jim!! I hope you have found several tips in Johnn's Adventure Hacking Course regarding mining modules and publishing your own adventure.

Hi all, I am Mohit from Toronto, Canada. I am pretttttty new to playing D&D, starting from 2020. Currently, I am DM'ing my first campaign - Lost Mine of Phandelver. Hoping to wrap it up soon and then start the Red Hand of Doom set in Eberron. Or, Githyanki using Slaadi's to try open the Xoriat portal. I really like the Eberron setting. So far, I really like the D20 and my face gives away the roll to my players which is fun. :)

I'm Michael from Portland, Oregon.

Someone prodded me into DM'ing D&D early last year and I loved it, just totally fell in love. I'm transitioning from being a board game/video game fanatic and I've really struggled with figuring out the right strategies for bringing out the stories in games vs. the video/board-game style combat/movement.

I wanted more practice DM'ing than I could get with my friends, so I started DM'ing weekly for Adventurer's League at my local game store for most of last year, which led to 2 paying gigs as a DM – which wasn't/isn't my goal. Paid gigs were a blast btw, although there's no realistic way to pay for the amount of time/energy/props/enthusiasm that are involved.

Since early last year, in addition to 5E I've run or attempted to run The One Ring, Fiasco, Tank Girl, Dungeon World, and Monster of the Week.

I'm currently running weekly games of D&D's Curse of Strahd for a handful of friends for the past 12 weeks and am in a 2nd week of Blades in the Dark.

I'd like to build an epic campaign based on the stories from Buffy the Vampire Slayer seasons 1-3. My favorite dice are the magical looking One Ring dice that have the sides with Gandalf Runes and the Eye of Sauron.
Happy Birthday, Michael! How is your campaign going? I would love to hear more and how you accustomed yourself to being a permanent GM.

Greetings, noble tale spinners!

My name is Matthew, and I live in Eastern Washington. I have been running a couple D&D 5th Edition games for a couple of months now. I first started gaming in 82' with D&D Basic, though the last ten years I was on hiatus from the craft, and I missed 4th Edition entirely. I sure wish all these guides and such were around back in the olden times. I always tended to over-prepare, and then miss important details. Looking to learn more, and meet new folks.
