New to the whole world and using Campaign Logger as a way to create interactive fiction opportunities, branching narratives and larger fiction works. Looking forward to exploring new tool as I learn old. Tips, trick and video instructional always welcome.
Happy Birthday!
Did you find out about Johnn‘s courses? Did you join?

Hello new forum members! Welcome!

Please leave a reply and introduce yourself.

Where in the world are you? What game(s) do you GM? How long have you been GMing? What's your favourite sided-die?
My name is Phil Wentzel and I live in SE Ohio. I have been playing D&D of some form or other since the late 70's. Started GM'ing in the 90's with my kids and then grandkids. Favorite die is the 8 sided when I role it for damage. Been out of it for a few years, and looking into creating a whole new world.

Hola @Phil! What version of D&D did you cut your teeth on? I did not start until the red book. Welcome back!

Happy Birthday, @gypsyav!
How is it going with Campaign Logger on your mobile phone? Was this problem solved?

Hi, my name is Duane and I live in Melbourne, Australia.

I've been playing D&D since 1980. My introduction to the game was rolling a character for Keep on the Borderlands and falling down a pit to my death in the first 5 minutes of play. Ignominious beginning but my continued adherence to the game through 5e is testament to its appeal and longevity.

I'm really looking forward to the Your Adventure Building Master Game Plan (can we get an acronym for that?) and rekindling some of the spark of those heady early days of D&D.

Cheers
Happy Birthday, Duane! Hope you profited a lot of the ADV II course.

The original 3 pamphlet version. I wouldn't call them books. Then went with AD&D 1e, then 2nd and 3nd (my fav) kinda skipped 4th and grandkids are using 5th so I guess I will have to adapt/

@Phil Hehe. 5E is a good game. In the grand scheme, I would also say D&D 3.5 was my favourite edition.

Mine too! But I'm biased. It was the time I was young and was really into full-time GMing jams after school.

Happy Birthday, @pbianchi! Have a nice day!

By the way, how do you celebrate Christmas in Belgium? Do the kids open their presents in the evening of the 24th or on the next morning? Are there some typical Belgium traditions?

Further, I see you are well invested in CL for the last months.
Is there anything that you miss and that would be great for us to implement?

Hello everyone - I'm Kellam and been playing RPGs since elementary school in the 80s when I found the classic boxed D&D sets. That led to a youth spent playing anything and everything (D&D, Advanced D&D, GURPS, Marvel, Star Wars, Shadowrun, Call of Cthulhu, and everything in between). I took a small break from 1992 to 2022 (GASP!), but jumping back into 5E to run a campaign with an old HS playing buddy of mine and some of his friends. Looking forward to diving back in. My favorite die is the d20. I love the rush of "will it be a 1 or 20"

Welcome back, Kellam!
That is indeed a "small break". The first steps back are probably not so easy, right?
I am eager to hear how it goes. I hope you can revive this hobby for you!

Hi peoples!

I'm not entirely sure where to introduce myself, but I am a late comer to ttrpgs, getting into Pathfinder and 5e about 6 - 7 years ago. I enjoy them a lot and play in/run 3-4 campaigns with a group of friends.

I'm looking forward to learning how to use the Campaign Logger to help me follow all that. I haven't yet figured out how to make a campaign for a game I play in though! I'm hoping to use the Logger for my Wednesday though!

Hi Carol! This is the correct location to introduce yourself.
For introductions to Campaign Logger, @JochenL is the correct person to ask. He's the developer and will answer every question you might have.
Concerning campaign creation, do you know that @JohnnFour created a course on exactly this? It is called the Adventure Building Master Game Plan under the category of Wizard of Story in Resources (in case you have already access to it, if not, Johnn will provide you with the correct link for an overview and possible access, I believe).
And in case you have questions on how to do this or that for the next session / adventure, just create a new thread and post your ideas and questions there. All the GMs here (myself included) will be happy to help.

Thanks for the welcome! I spent some time with the Logger today and feel I made progress. Of course my happy little plan to vacuum up over 2 years worth of notes for my campaign and another 2 years as a player in another campaign is going to take a while! Hopefully I can find all the bits of paper and notebooks! lol

I just bought the program today, so thanks for sending me to sources of information! There's a lot to learn.

I'm looking forward to being a part of the community!

Great!
There IS a lot to learn, but don't get overwhelmed by the sheer mass of it. One step at a time.
One more thing: Working on the course alone is... well... not so fulfilling as working on it together. I found that I had a lot of fun and more input from other GMs as I posted a thread in the Wizard of Story / Adventure Building Master Game Plan forum for my homework.

Hello All!

My name is Nick and I am from Rapid City, SD. I've been following the RPT newsletter for a few years and I signed up for the Campaign Logger this week in preparation for a 5e Eberron game I'm going to be running soon. Needless to say the scope of resources available through this subscription is impressive, if not a little overwhelming!

I started playing D&D in the mid-90s beginning with 2e. I began playing 3e when it came out, then transitioned to Pathfinder at the tail end of 3e (sounds like that is a common trajectory around here). I've been playing 5e since 2017 and I must say the mechanics are my favorite out of all; I have been curious about Starfinder but haven't spent much time looking into it as I'm overextended enough as it is with my current TT and videogame backlog.

I have five kids that are in varying stages of their own TTPG journeys and an amazing wife who supports and encourages all of our nerdy pursuits. Looking forward to being part of this community!

Welcome! I'm new here this week too, so I have a lot to learn. Pretty excited about it!

We play as a three generation family, so I know how much fun that is!

I seem to have forgotten to mention that I live in Post Falls, ID, USA.

A year at its end... and a lot has happened. Also here on the forum...

As I'm looking forward to a new D&D movie next year, it is almost overshadowed by the possibility of a 5E Darksun revival!

I wish you all an exciting 2022 and a lot of good games!
