Log slow to open

Once I'm logged in and click a log, it's always taken a little longer than I'd like for it to open, but lately it seems even longer. Last night I went to make a quick note from my phone (using the web app, as always) before bed, and ended up giving up and using a different app to make the note and plan to copy it later. Today I tried from my laptop (using the college's ridiculously high-speed connection) and I timed it: it took between 1 minute and 32 seconds and 2 minutes and 47 seconds before the log appeared. And because of the way the page loads, that's nearly 3 minutes where the title bar at the top has changed, but nothing else shows any indication that a page is loading. :cautious:

Do we know where the bottleneck is that's slowing that process down? Is there anything I can do on my end to improve it? It doesn't seem to be affected by the size of the log, because it acted the same whether the log has 272 entries or just 8.

Doing just a "Hard Reload" didn't change anything, but "Empty Cache and Hard Reload" seemed to speed things right up. Going into a log happened nice and fast, though going back to the main Campaign Logs list was still pretty slow...

...but that only lasted a few times (clicking back and forth between the individual logs and the main list), before it started to go slow again. Now it's being inconsistent: sometimes loading logs quick, sometimes slow, but always loading the main Campaign Logs list slow.

I'm packing up now, but I'll try to experiment a little more when I get home.

I can confirm that the CL server is currently very slow to answer - I am investigating now.

Still very visible slowness on opening the log. Very very slow to even clock on the campaign logs button...

Yes, and I am still working on it. It's not the client, not the security software, not the database index. I am currently checking the intra-system communication.

Intra-system communication is good. It seems to be the database engine. Database files compacted and re-indexed without success. I will schedule a database engine update for tomorrow evening.

Database engine updated and moved to SSD without effect.
Database migration to another machine resulted in a 50% reduction in query times, even over a network.
So this is very likely a performance issue with the server, most likely disk usage as the CPU is mostly idling.

Log loading is still slower than it used to be, but somewhat faster than on the weekend.
Please let me know of any additional problems you encounter in the coming days.
In the meantime I'll prepare the move of the system to another hosting provider.
