Money vs quartermaster

Hey guys,

I'm just getting started with this program and so far I'm loving it and see huge potential!

I'm having trouble seeing how to use money vs quartermaster tags. I know I can just change them, but I'm wondering how others are differentiating them and what value it adds to separate them. To me money and items all seems like treasure. Does anyone have some examples/advise so I can better organize?

Thanks
Neil

A lot depends on your campaign. Genre, style, game system, etc.

But for those two tags I envisioned money being for transactions.

I often GM sandbox and urban settings. So the PCs are buying and selling stuff.

There's no right or wrong. In my current Hobo Princes campaign, there's been few transactions so far.

It varies with campaign style and what you want to GM. Hobo Princes have featured a lot of combats. My previous campaign featured a lot of low-level urban gameplay with requisite merchant interactions.

Just my two cents:

I normally don't tag amounts of money but the kind of valuable, e.g. 5 $gp or 4 $diamonds (ea. 100 $gp).

Two differentiate between money and items: Everything that (in Pathfinder e.g.) trades 1:1 as money and isn't a unique item (aka interchangeable/without special properties) is $ to me.
Everything else is items, e.g. !"demonic ruby" (worth 5000 $gp to evil-worshipping cultists, will open the garden portal to hell).
