What do you think a GM should log during sessions in CL?

I find it tough to stop flapping my mouth while I GM, so I never break and take only the barest notes.

Players collab in a Google Doc, which helps my memory out a lot.

So instead of logging during sessions, I do a "brain dump" after sessions.

Regardless of approach you take - logging during or between sessions - what details do you find essential to keep your campaigns running?

Locations: any changes from my basic write up
Plot: any cool hints/ideas that come up during the session

I brain dump at the end but since my sessions are over late at night on a weekday, I just make quick notes. I quickly make 2 or 3 word notes about stuff that happened that I can expand upon the next day. I also make notes about anything that I owe the players, usually XP points and treasure. This happens when the PCs go a direction I didn't expect and I threw something at them. I don't have XP or loot information ready in these instances and we are over our time limit to play. The next day I come back and flesh out the session notes.

I end my session notes with a "Next" section. This contains our next session date and who plans to be there. And then any ideas of where I think the next session will lead. Again, small quick notes that I can flesh out later in the week but it gets my brain thinking about encounters, story line, any twists I want to incorporate. I set aside a few days later, my next session prep night. I go back to the sessions notes and take the "Next" section and copy that to my next session prep notes.

Rinse and repeat
