Sorting Campaign Log entries in vNext

I am a new Logger user, and I have decided to start all of my work in vNext. I realize it is beta, but I don't want to have to start off in a system which is going to be going away as soon as the vNext is released.

One issue I have already run into is sorting Campaign Log entries. Whenever I enter a new log entry, it always appears at the top of the log. But sometimes I want to add a new entry in the middle of the log. I realize I can drag entries, but there are two issues:

1. If the location is far back, it can be awkward to try to drag and scroll at the same time.
2. When I drag to place it, it "swaps" the entries, it doesn't insert it at that position. This means a lot of dragging and moving in order to effectively insert it into the middle of the timeline.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there an easier way of inserting a value into the middle of the list, or is there a way to drag and insert an entry instead of having them swap positions?

Sounds like me - I've moved over to vNext as well to get the jump on things.
I've also run into something like this sorting issue, but not nearly as good a case as you describe here.
+1 from me to follow along and learn me a thing or three on the new version of CL.

Two days ago we (@Rardian and me) had exactly this discussion. He wished for the step-by-step arrows and the "move to start/end" buttons in vNext.

We also have the direct editing of the ordering property in the wish list.

Finally, there should definitively be alternate sorting options, like the "%" (date)-ordering in the old CL.

Yeah, I kind of f%&!$d up my entry order because I, too, thought moving an entry would move it to the new position, like you did @Toasty . I think it's really counter-intuitive. Is there anyone out there expecting them to switch places? Also the new order has no effect on a shared stream. So be aware until we "fix" this!

• Direct editing of the ordering property
• Auto-renumbering of all log entries using the current sorting
• Streams respecting the user-chosen ordering
