Hi all
I am starting this thread as a resource for anyone interested in game sound effects, music, etc.

I have been collecting music for a few years, from a few sources, and I have a large library that had not yet fully fed my addiction. I hope you all enjoy and can use some of the links that will be provided.

For the purposes of this list, I will break things down into 2 categories: resources that are free to all and paid resources. As I am writing this "On the Fly", so to speak, the format may change over time, (Or I may decide to use a google doc spreadsheet to help keep things better organized).

VTT Intergration

For virtual table tops, I have only used 2, and wanted to include a bit about them here:

Foundry:
This is newer software, but it includes built-in sound support that can be pinned to a specific area. Through their Patreon, there are a few sound packs available that can be downloaded. Support for local sounds is also included.

Fantasy Grounds
Fantasy Grounds has 2 extensions to support sound, one is freely available, the other is available as a paid extension on DMSguild.com

MK Syrinscape Sound Links module (Paid)
This extension and associated module make it easy to trigger Syrinscape sounds from within Fantasy Grounds. This extension is compatible with both the Syrinscape Online and Genre players (Fantasy & Sci-Fi). They are available for purchase on the DMsGuild website. Future updates to this extension and module will be free for purchasers

AudioOverseer (Audio Management Extension) (FREE)
Allows you to control sound for a higher level of immersion in your FantasyGrounds games. It should work on CoreRPG layered rulesets (I've tested with 2E and 5E). It leans heavily on the Syrinscape Fantasy & Online Player but can be used with a local player (I tested VLC for windows).

An advanced virtual audio mixer available for free on Windows systems. It can be used in association with various streaming services, including OBS, Twitch, and Discord. @Lensman, do you have a recommendation for an easy-to-use "sound mixer" on Windows? I don't want to use a VTT's play-a-sound capabilities. I would like to mix my headset's microphone and the media player's output into one "channel" and stream that to Discord (e.g.). I have Voicemeeter installed but don't find it particularly easy-to-use.

The software is free, while the DLC unsurprisingly isn't. But you can install your own sound files.

Great question!
Sadly I have not yet started to DM games, so I haven't spent a lot of time looking into this. However, as @ELF stated, RPG Sounds is looking VERY promising, (and I personally backed their Kickstarter), so I have high hopes for this software.

One thing I'd debating:
Would anyone like to have the resources updated to include side such as battlemaps, map icons, and similar resources? I have a few that I can add in, but not sure if there would be a desire for that sort of information. Please let me know!
