Though maps are often my first GM Move, creating encounters is probably my favorite.

In CL I use Pages for encounters, tagged with the *Plot Tag.

Here's a snapshot of the very first encounter of my Basilica campaign:

The characters could hear concerned yelling along the road not too far away from #Ravenwall. The encounter ended with the party soundly trouncing the spider and little physical harm to the child.

A couple of NPCs appear in this encounter, and all survived contact with the party! Huzzah.

There's also treasure there, and it's good to keep track of where stuff's been found and when.

So after the session I add a hex Tag to mark the location:

And then I change the Page to become a Calendar Tag and change the name to: 157AE-Meltwater-04-MissingChild

157 After Empire is an unofficial date used in this region. 0 AE marks the death of Jochen's character's Great Uncle. Upon his fall, it became turtles warlords all the way down.

Meltwater is the month name, used from Empire days.

04 is day four of the week.

MissingChild is a reminder of why that hex is notable.

So after the session I change the Tag to the Date Tag. It's been played, therefore is canon, and perfectly archived as part of a timeline:
