[vNext] New line in table cells

Hi all,
I would like to have multiple lines in a table cell

Something like
|| Column1 || Col2 Line1
|| [ Empty ] || Col2 Line 2

With the Column1 cell as high as the two "Col2 Line1" and "Col2 Line2" cells

I tried
|| Col1 || Col2 Line1 <br> Col2 Line2

without success.

Is there a way to get it or is this a feature not yet available?

Thank you in advance for your help
Happy logging!

Ahoi!

Markdown does not support this, normally. We can extend the parser, though!

Thank you Jochen for your fast reply!
I don't know if this can be of interest for other users and the amount of work it requires to be implemented.

I'm trying to create some templates for NPCs, factions, scenes, etc. and a table looked like the way to go.

I'll keep using this as a workaround
|| Col1 || Col2 Line 1
|| || Col2 Line 2

In this way lines 1 and 2 appear under Col2 at least, even though it's a bit cumbersome.

Happy Logging!

I have run across this too. I would like to request the feature. The carriage return is a good hack, but the shade band makes it confusing.

In my view this is by no means an essential feature, but indeed would be a nice thing to have, especially when producing tables with random content where the width of the cells can vary quite a bit. This would be a good step towards more control over table formatting.
