I've always passed on the mobile apps for 2 reasons:
  1. They didn't have a fully automated sync when I looked.
  2. I get campaign logger as part of my roleplaying tips subscription and that doesn't offer the mobile apps
Voting for #2 both in self interest and because I don't know if the effort of implementing the generators into the mobile apps would be done or would be time well spent.

I don't think I'll really use CL on my mobile but I do use the Windows desktop version and I hope it will be maintained so I vote for option 1.

While I'm keen on campaign features, I feel like I already have a lot of options there - google docs, roll20, scabard and others fill that niche. I was really excited about the mobile apps though, especially if they could support offline sync. I currently use google docs for my adventure planning and backup character notes because I know that I will have access to my notes even if the service is down or I lose cell data coverage.

Would love to be able to use campaign logger as my offline backup instead as it's so much easier to find notes.

To me option two has by far the most merits. Would be a rather interesting option to get my players to edit their details themselves.
Might even be a way to have them access a log of what has happened so far.

Option one is interesting, but less so for me. I'm always using Campaign logger on my laptop, while having internet connectivity anyway.
