Would it be possible for Johnn or someone to share a well structured campaign that uses his (or his + others ideas)? I certainly can cobble together my own based on my notes of previous John Fourr documents, but I'd rather just use an approach someone else used and customize it.

e.g., how do you distinguish between master data (stuff about a thing you've prepped) and transactional data (things that happen in the campaign
how do you distinguish between plan materials and the other two
how do you create documents (like Johnn's Story So far) that organize the giant mass of small separate notes.

If I understand your question correctly, you've described how I use Campaign Logger.

Originally CL only had what you are calling "transactional data" - the logged events during the session.

A while back, CL added "Pages" in addition to logs - Pages would be the "master data" for a topic that you prep and refer to.

The way I like to think of it is that log entries are short "tweets' made to capture an idea during the session.

Campaign Pages are more like "wiki pages" you refer back to which hold far more reference information than a single logged event.

On pages I can also "prep" things for upcoming sessions in the GM-only part of the page.

Things that are "pubic knowledge" are in the Player part of the same page, and as they uncover things, I can move things that learn from the prepped GM part of the page up to the player part of the page just with a copy-paste.

@Gary F I'm about to reboot my Campaign Design Diary.

It'll go how I prep for a new campaign using Campaign Logger.

I'll be sharing it with all Wizards of Adventure and Wizards of Story, so you'll have access.

I put master data into Pages.

I put transactional data into a Log, with one Log Entry per transaction.

I'm still experimenting with vNext's new features.

I used to create a Log called Ideas and pile them in there. Now I might do it differently - I'll be experimenting.

But in my experience you can't go wrong creating a Log called Ideas and making a Log Entry per idea or group of ideas.

how do you create documents (like Johnn's Story So far) that organize the giant mass of small separate notes.
vNext has a new feature called Pages.

Every Tag gets one Page slot. Create a Page by hovering over any Tag or going to the Pages screen. Pages get 250,000 characters vs. Log Entries that get 2,500.

I'll demo this in a video for the Campaign Design Diary that''ll hit your inbox this week, fingers crossed.
