Wow, thank you! I had no idea that I had left evidence of my deterioration cycle here. :)
Thank you for your kind and considerate post. I truly appreciate the time you took to send me your support. Let let me know if I can do the same for you.

It is my pleasure! I am so grateful for this group and the insights I get from everyone. I sometimes feel like a bit of an outsider because I have less experience in a lot of the surrounding media (I've never read Lord of the Rings!), but being part of this community helps me feel that everyone has truly valuable experiences to share.
Is there a way for me to sticky posts in one of my threads? I tried bookmarking posts, but it isn't clear what that did.
Hi JochenL,

Thanks for branching the Microscope topic into a new thread. I'm new to using online forums, so not too familiar with the etiquette / functionality. Is there some page where I can learn about this stuff?

Cheers!

New computer - new extra monitor (previous ones were 6 and 10 years old). Man - this feels good.
Starting to be back to normal life after summer vacations. Gaming season started already - a fabulous session at the Tomb of Long Lost Conqueror King of the Loral Island. You should have seen the face of the character who tried to use his sword to cut the gigantic spider web where the mummy of the king was held midair - a gargantuan lightning strike burned the favourite 2h sword of the weapon in strike to the hilt.

Somehow that reminds of that random encounter with the death star you once envisioned.
But this time the players did have some advance warning - be careful of not going too soft on them! :devilish:

Slowly getting accustomed to normalcy after the local con. Hopefully this pictorial news report manages to cross most of the language barrier:

Unfortunately Google Translate weirds out the article with subtle changes, like translating folklore as National Army... :sneaky:

Magnificent stuff. Unfortunately I was out of town for most of the weekends - including this one.

Once again I tried to overachieve and filled my calendar for the weekend with 70 interesting sounding talks, panels, and whatnots.
But then I realized my folly and just hung out. :)

That one is really cool! Did you take photos?

It was not a very photogenic exhibition - although they had a table with plenty of games and some props available for quick impromptu gaming, but that's not really a realistic proposition in a museum. (The place is a gaming museum, and that approach works a lot better with their video games.)
The rare and most interesting exhibits were displayed only behind a glass pane.

First game in a few months is over. Probably will have my first PC fatality in awhile - he insisted on attacking overwhelming enemy (thought he had over powerful elemental ally) and then refused to retreat on principle. Last seen bleeding to death in the crater with his elemental hacked to bits and horde of enemies surrounding him. The other players did their best to support and then woo with magic to retreat.
All right.@ELF @JochenL @Johnn Things start to get sorted out. Real real life interruptions start to be solved and getting back to Regularly Scheduled Feature Invention and RPGs. Tonight - first game in months and it will be themed "You Need A Bigger Boat - part II"
Get well soon! I hope you have enough unread RPG books to fill your time until you feel better!
