I've been playing since the red box edition of D&D in the late 70s and really cut my teeth on AD&D 1st edition, then 2nd edition, the Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance and Dark Sun. One of the groups I gamed with in the early 90s introduced me to Rifts and Palladium and loved the material and the rules.
Took a hiatus from the late 90s to 2015 and have gotten back into it with Pathfinder and 5e. Since I started on 1e I like it more than the newer editions, but still game in both 5e and Pathfinder. We tried a Rifts campaign recently but had too much trouble getting back into the rules so we paused it indefinitely until we can either nail them down or find a rules set that works.
I am a land surveyor here in Alaska and constantly outdoors so staying active isn't a problem - having the creative time for the games can be because the wilderness always calls . . . . .
