    I agree that theme is more meta than in-game. More of a GM guide and a feeling for the players. A sense of linking events outside of causation?

    I usually think of a theme as being a characteristic that should run throughout the adventure or campaign that gives it coherence/links the adventure elements together in a way that is not literal. Not sure if that made sense.😁

    Genesis is great. The rules let you play it straight crunchy or do narrative things. I wish more people got into it.

    To Secret was crazy but it was one of the first non-fantasy games we played (after Call of Cthulhu).

    How to improve your descriptions?

    I like the idea of using improved descriptions to set the mood and tone. Perfect solution to having to memorize a description. Just decide details based on what you want them to feel about the scene.

    Variations on FATE too: Go on Driv Thru RPG and search Fate supers. ICONS is based on Fate and is very low crunch but slightly more than regular Fate. But Wearing the Cape is awesome, and a slimmed down version of the rules just came out called Super Powered Fate. Venture City is awesome too...

    Three Things: 1-Small ivory cameo with the image of a young woman and the name “Penny” at the bottom... 2-a small gold ring that when worn makes you think you are invisible. 3-An ice cube that is cold and never seems to melt.
