random table for successful and unsuccessful attacks

I recognize that one of my own areas of opportunity to be better at DMing is to get as far away from accounting as possible. Sadly.. that is exactly what I do all day for work. While I do try to give players moments to describe attacks and have asked they flavour up spells. I would say 90 percent, maybe more of our sessions boil down to I attack with my +1 sword on the bad guy infront of me. I I rolled a 16, does it hit? yes. damage? 14. ok sliven, your up. I cast magic missile, etc.. its an accounting dry and boring list of what is being done, not how, why etc. I want to actualy try to create a massive list of successful and unsuccessful attacks be it ranged, magic or melee. I have scoured the internet and cannot find anything that is similar to what I want to create. IF you use one, have one and like it, I would ove to see it and then work on putting it into a generator to be used.

INstead of having to think about flavorful descriptions, I can concentrate on important things like what the monsters are thinking and doing, and why.

Wish I had something to start us off with perhaps a few

your blade crashed into your enemy, requiring you to pull the weapon, now stuck in the armour, blood seeps from the scar on the armour and your blade is dripping with blood.

the gods smile upon you, your prayers are answered as your opponent feels the wrath of your god

the magic you have poured your life into, slowly but surely builds to a crescendo as the incantation comes to a conclusion. The words creating power that leaps from your fingers and races to wards your enemy. Striking true you see your enemy withering in pain.

how about a miss?

You strike at your opponent, every time he seems to anticipate your move, countering leaving you mistified and open for a counter attack

sure I can think of these now but, in the heat of the moment, worrying about all the enemies, the plot, whats happening behind the scenes the players rarely ever even see etc.. I am hoping to get some responses and start building a generator to incorporate these successes and failures in a more flavorful manor and bring the story to the players instead of a bean counter.

Hola @Justin_Giver!

I believe there was one or more Kickstarters with decks of cards that had combat descriptions.

Alternatively, you could purchase my Wizard of Combat program or upgrade to Platinum, as I have a complete PDF called "Combat Swipes" that gives you hundreds of combat descriptions.

Each table is a d50 you can roll on or choose from.
