§ Sections category on a US keyboard

This has probably been answered many times but I have not found an answer through searching...

All the page category prefixes can be typed on my US keyboard except the Sections one (§). I know I can simply click the button but is there a way to enter it from the keyboard without changing my keyboard layout in Windows?

In Windows, there is a tool called "Character Map":

It says, the keystroke is "Alt+0167".

On my notebook, it only works with the num pad, not with the number keys above the letter keys.

Thanks for the tips. I think it would be an edge case use for me but I had never seen the symbol before and wondered why I couldn't see it on my keyboard. I think I will go with Alt-0167 as the easiest option (or click the button!) Cheers

I use the Alt solution as well.

I call it "Alt167" to help me remember.

I guess this explains why § doesn't mean rules by default. To me, it feels like the most logical symbol given it's association with law documents, and I changed my personal logger tags to mean exactly that, but if people have issues typing it ....

You are exactly right. It's the symbol with greatest friction in our array.
