Do any Campaign Logger subscribers here run Old School Essentials?

I need your help beta testing an OSE SRD built for Campaign Logger.

Here is a video walkthrough of how to import the file and use it:
https://videos.cdn.campaign-community.com/cl/cl-ose-beta-testing.mp4

And here is the file to import into Campaign Logger:
https://clst01.blob.core.windows.net/community-cdn/cl/OSE-SRD-v1.0.json

If you do give it a whirl:
  • Does the organization make sense? Page name, Labels, etc.
  • Reply here with any bugs you find: missing data, wrong data, typos, etc.
Thank you! Please note I consider this a beta version, not final, so do not import this into an existing campaign. Make it its own campaign for now.

@JohnnFour and @JochenL - What if we made the utility program I wrote available through the public Open Campaign Logger Add-Ons (https://github.com/open-campaign-logger) GitHub? We could open it up to other developers that want to create CL compendiums for their own rulesets. I could probably have the code cleaned up and published in a few weeks.

@JohnnFour - How did you do handled the conversion of OSE data into CL format?

Cool!

For OSE, I asked our helper, Gian, to manually copy, paste, and format the OSE stuff. An automated solution would be amazing.

I'll run your app when it's ready against WOIN O.L.D. and provide feedback. Labels are key, I feel. And we'll want to get those right.

That's a LOT of cutting, pasting and formatting! The good news is that I can actually use the CL file Gian created as a source file for my program and programmatically reformat it as we decide to make label and formatting changes. The beauty of doing it in a programmatic fashion is that we can regenerate new compendium CL files in a minute or two if we decide to tweak labels, formatting, inclusions/exclusions, etc...

I'll take a look at WOIN.

First step will be to clean up the code base and get it into GitHub. I'll work on that over the next few weeks.

I looked around a bit, and I am a complete rookie with CL, but have been doing some ose lately.

The treasure entries do not include "Type T" there was instead a "Type Tusks". Which I did find amusing, didn't match.
Going through pages and tags, I found a stat block for "elf-monster" and "halfling-monster" (maybe others) but did not see an entry for human.
Again I am a total rookie, and did not have much time to play with it yet, but this is what I noticed so far. I will try to play more tomorrow.

Under the treasure labels and pages, I found several magic items, but no armor or weapons. Oversight or not implemented yet?
I am sure it is somewhere, but did not figure out how to give my wererat an item. I didn't try (but just thought of) to open his page and add it to his page somehow. I think I will stop here as I am unfamiliar with the program and how most of it works. I was of course trying out the CTT at the same time and did not try to link the 2 yet, I thought that was possible but forgot where I read it.

I hope this wasn't too chaotic and you can gleam some information from it. I will do more tomorrow after work and report back again. So if there are any special requests for a newb to try, feel free to speak up. If I can steal some time at work tomorrow I will try to watch and read some guides on using the wonderful program.

Still at work, but after watching and reading stuff today, was curious if CTT can reference CL? For instance a NPC created in CL be referenced from a token in CTT? I would have both open already and be able to switch between tabs easily enough, but just curious if a direct link is possible.

I looked around again last night and did not come across anything else. All the data seems to be correct. But of course thinking on it now (when not by my PC), I do not recall seeing anything referring to hirelings or mounts. I might have just missed them though.

CTT cannot reference CL yet. We're thinking about it, but it's not a high prio at this time. @JochenL is improving sync on the back end, and then we're looking at player editing and a few other features. We'll add this to the backlog though!

I do not think it is a priority either, just curious mostly. I like it lite and friendly. If you can keep it that way all the better. If you are considering it, to tailor it to each user an option to load a portion of CL into CTT when you wanted. For instance I am working on my OSE campaign and put together a page with all the monsters on it, be able to load just that page for just me into the CTT to access. Avoid having to switch tabs constantly.

@JohnnFour - Working on cleaning up the OSE data file right now. I noticed that in some cases the spell descriptions were in the public part of the page and in others it's in the private part. Which one should they be in?

Great catch! All mechanics should be Public.

We're hoping to make SRDs accessible to players, too.

A freshly brewed OSE compendium is ready. (attached)

@JohnnFour - My program takes your original OSE file, breaks it apart, and then reassembles it in a programmatic fashion. With this approach I can manipulate entries in bulk.

Fixed for magic items and spells.

Note to self: add a Page for OSE OGL/legal declaration.

The future of CL right here - entire game engines baked in and push-button addable.
So... very ... cool.
