Thanks for all the good recommended tools. I settled on WorldAnvil, but I have yet to put it through it's paces.

I purchased Wonderdraft and Dungeonsdraft they are pretty awesome, youtuber Icarus games has some great tutorials for them
I have to agree. I have CC as well but I have no idea why I even bought it on sale since the learning curve and work involved in making maps is way above the time I have available. Wonderdraft and Dungeondraft are about my level and have a much easier learning curve. Still not used to them but it will take a lot less time to learn and those videos are definitely a good way to learn.

Please stop with all the links, now I just feel overwhelmed by all the awesome resource I have to sift through for the next weeks :p

But anyways, here are some more:

As I am a big sucker for creating playlists, I might merge them with my own to make my life even easier.

I have revamped tools.notesfrompavis.com (a resource for Mythras and maybe Glorantha tooling).

It now contains:
- Mythras and Gloranthan generator tidbits - powered by Campaign Logger.
- Mythras Dice Roll Evaluator - for seeing how the conditions and augments would affect your roll
- Mythras Encounter Generator JSON tool - it selects from Mythras Encounter Generator and creates JSON that can be imported into Roll20 to create an enemy there
- Mythras Combat Flow - reference for much of the combat rules for Mythras and links to various charts.

I thought I'd google how to build random generators from tables (like the ones above) and just found this:

https://perchance.org/welcome

It has a cool syntax that's simple and easy to learn but complex enough to get some good results. Enjoy

There is a thread for OneNote, but it hasn't received much love. There are some custom OneNote workbooks designed for game masters, so OneNote definitely has potential, even if Campaign Logger aims to be a One Note killer. :)

Has anyone seen a mapping / image-processing tool for creating fractal iterations of an initial image/height map (see example image below).
I have a gloabal map produced from this popular generator:
https://donjon.bin.sh/scifi/world/

and I'd like to iterate reasonably accurate zoomed-in maps of the original global map, using fractal math to 'fill in the gaps' with believable terrain.

and have found one possible candidate:
https://www.3d-map-generator.com/3d-map-generator-terrain-features/

but I'm interested in anyone's experience of this process if you've used them before, or similarly with other tools.

It's been a long time since I did anything heightmap but some tools used wayback include:
TerraGen, TerrainSculptor, and the grand-daddy 900lb monster ... MojoWorlds by Pandromeda.
MojoWorlds is likely to be nigh impossible to find and run and learn these days - but it was the most advanced fractal world builder I've seen until No Man's Sky launched.
