In the summer the German "Better than Life" development team ran an unsuccessful Kickstarter for their campaign management tool YARPS. Today they have announced that the project will return.

In the Kickstarter campaign they did not show much of the actual tool, but have now decided to create a demo first. They have opened a survey asking what people would like to see in the prototype:
we have already started to develop the announced prototype version that is going to show certain features of YARPS in action. You can now co-decide which features will be presented! Take part in our short survey, and let us know what you would like to see in the prototype version!

The delayed beta version of the YARPS web app has been opened today for registered testers.

My first impression is that plenty of thought and polish has gone into the design. For example the world instance has been pre-populated with demo content that demonstrates how the tools work. But all of the demo content can be deleted in one go from the Settings menu.

The YARPS team just announced that offline mode will be available before final release:
We are aiming to implement offline usability for YARPS already before the final release, a feature that was requested often. As you know, this was not part of the prototype’s original concept and was only considered as a potential next step after the release. After comprehensive analysis we have now decided to redesign the foundations of YARPS already before the release. This will enable offline usability and many other things and make YARPS even better right from the start.
